“…the sun triumphed over the dawn and lit the old trees”

If I loved you just right
for just long enough
I think
in the flicker of moments
a very small miracle
that is just for us
such as the sight of the sun
triumphing over the dawn
& lighting the old trees
in our yard
on a walk
by the beach
as we drive past
is completely possible
Even more than likely

The very smallest of miracles
The correct sprinkle of nutmeg
The perfect pinch of cumin
The most delightful morsel
from a perfectly irreplicable meal
Yes, all of this
So very small
So as to be
Just for the two of us

Of course,
all of this depends,
on me loving you
just right
for the longest time
